Ana’s historical knowledge of Santa Fe and the surrounding area is amazing. The tour was almost 2.5 hours and she presented a non-stop narrative of historical, interesting and amusing facts which kept my wife and I enthralled the whole time. I readily endorse Ana and would recommend her to anyone wanting an in-depth tour by a longtime resident of Santa Fe. This is a 5-star tour *****
Ana conducted a wonderful tour of Sante Fe for us April 2021. We could not have been more pleased. Not only is Ana superbly knowledgeable about the history of the area, she is also descended from some of the original Spanish settlers and her family’s history is part of the charm of her tour. Wonderful pictures. Engrossing stories. I felt like Sante Fe was one of the most complex historical cities we have visited. Thank you, Ana!
Ana Pacheco is passionate about telling the history of Santa Fe, one story at a time; one thing leading to the next, connecting the dots. I learned that for hundreds of years Santa Fe has collected people who are creative, spiritual, religious, intellectual, famous, infamous, rich, poor, brown, white, thin, not so thin, blue eyes, brown eyes, green eyes, kind, and not so kind, giving rise to being referred to as, “the City Different.” Maybe the acceptance Santa Fe adopted early on can be an inspiration to the rest of the world today. That’s my favorite part of Santa Fe’s history and hopefully it’s future.
Fantastic tour from a lady whose family origins in Santa Fe go back more than 350 years. If you like history you won’t find a more knowledgeable and energetic guide in Santa Fe, or perhaps in of all of New Mexico. Highly recommended!
Ana has just a great grasp of the history. It was wonderful listening to her! It was also considerate in asking if we wanted to see certain aspects of the tour.
Highly recommend! You can tell Ana has spent endless hours researching the history of a city she loves. She packs a lot of information into the 2.5-hour tour. She is friendly and energetic. You won't be disappointed. Terry N.
This was an amazing tour! Ana is a gem and wonderful historian. The time flew as Ana showed us the various historic places around the city and brought Santa Fe history alive with photos and stories. The tour takes you through the early days of the settlement of Santa Fe and brings you up through time to Los Alamos. Ana’s passion about this city and its history become contagious and make you want to know more. We look forward to reading her books and learning more of this amazing place and the surrounding area.
I just wanted to thank you so very much for the wonderful tour you provided for us NC girls on our trip to Santa Fe last week. I learned so very much and you have such a great knowledge of the history of your hometown. I look forward to reading your books and learning even more!
Ana Pachecos was our tour guide in Santa Fe on May 3, 2021. This was my fourth visit to Santa Fe and she was by far the most informational guide, she is a local and passionate about her history. Have now read a couple of her books, which I loved. You will not be disappointed...book your tour today.
What an amazing, informative, personalized, and detailed tour! Ana is incredible. 10/10 would recommend to learn the ins, outs, and extensive history of Santa Fe.
Ana isn't just a tour guide, she's a beloved historian and author. Born and raised in Santa Fe, she knows everything about the city from its inception up until about four minutes ago. Be prepared, she's on a mission to immerse you in all things Santa Fe in 2.5 hours. From cultural significance to Native American heritage to foodie fun, Ana brings the 411. We peppered her with countless inane questions and she had answers for everything.
Recently had a fabulous tour of Santa Fe with Ana. She is incredibly knowledgeable about Santa Fe history. Her family can trace back generations settling in the city, and her tour is filled with interesting facts that only a native would know. She weaves the history, culture, and spirituality of Santa Fe into a fascinating tale. The information she presents respectfully and forthrightly touches so many facets of its history, from the native Americans, the Spanish, through the events of the 20th century. Ana shares a wealth of knowledge, and if you love the intricacies, impacts and interconnections of the past - you won't be disappointed. Thank you Ana for a great tour!
Our daughter was visiting and she loves history, as do we, so we decided to book a tour. I didn’t realize how little I really knew about Santa Fe! She has an amazing family heritage and personal narratives as well. We plan on doing it again when we have visitors
This in depth history tour is fabulous. Ana's knowledge and passion is tremendous. A must for lovers of history and a great way to begin any trip to this area.
Ana is an actual historian mixed with passion for the State of New Mexico, wonderful sense if humor and the art of making you feel like old friends. I personally left with a great appreciation for the New Mexico.
We spent 2.5 hours with our tour guide, author Ana Pacheco, learning the history of Santa Fe from a very personal perspective. Ana’s family lived in Santa Fe for generations, and many streets and some buildings are named after her ancestors. Along with her very detailed narrative, Ana had numerous photos from the past that gave even more “life” to the history she shared. We covered a lot of ground in a variety of weather conditions, from warm sunlight to heavy hail. Through it all Ana did not miss a beat.
Ana Pacheco was a wonderful introduction to Santa Fe and the environs. She was so knowledgeable, she answered all our questions and gave us a unique understanding of the city, its culture and formation. In the ensuing days of our visit to Santa Fe, we frequently referred to the information that Ana gave us. It made such a difference to our enjoyment.
Ana is a wealth of knowledge that flows effortlessly. She is completely engaging and passionate about her heritage and sharing the history of New Mexico. By far the best tour I have ever taken on a vacation to learn about my surroundings. Highly recommend.
My wife and I visited Santa Fe, NM in April 2022. We really enjoyed Ana's history tour. She is a wealth of knowledge and is a passionate storyteller. Oh, don't hesitate to ask Ana about her thematic presentations. We enjoyed the city tour so much that we also arranged a live presentation with her on New Mexico Death Rituals and Spirituality. A projector, a laptop, and a bottle of wine all made a very enjoyable evening. Highly recommend it!
