Santa Fe 101 Guide | Where to Live

Some of today’s visitor’s become tomorrow’s residents. Although it has become more expensive to buy a house in Santa Fe in the past decade, you still get a lot for your money in comparison to other cities and lower property taxes. If you fall in love with Santa Fe and choose to become a part or full time resident please rent before you buy. It’s one thing to be close to the historic downtown as a tourist but quite another when you’re here to stay. Living within walking distance of a museum isn’t the same as being close to a grocery store or pharmacy. The neighborhoods you liked as a tourist are just that, neighborhoods for tourists. Many of these areas have a disproportionate number of vacation rentals, so they lack a sense of community because the area is always in flux.
